Small Batch.

The honey featured on Maryland Honey Shop is harvested in small, seasonal batches, typically twice a season. Like wine or whiskey, each honey crop will be unique, even from one hive location to another. A honey you purchase in the spring will be different than honey you eat in the fall, but shouldn’t disappoint.

Ethically Sourced.

Our hive management style is doing what is best for the bees. Every time we open our hives, we have a plan to be as minimally disruptive to their home as possible. When it’s time to harvest honey, we ensure we leave them enough resources for eating, storage and healthy hive production - after all, we are enjoying the fruits of their labor! This is why when we advertise honey for sale, we have varying availability.

Maryland Honey.

Currently, we are proudly running four hives in the heart of Locust Point, in Federal Hill, in Baltimore, Maryland. Each season brings new growth, and we’ve established hives in Arnold and Davidsonville, Maryland. If you are interested in sponsoring a hive and adding one or two to your property, please reach out!

Honey bees will search a five mile radius for pollen and nectar, and bring it back to the hive to store, and eventually create honey. Our girls in Locust Point enjoy the nectar of clover, locust trees, and neighboring blooms of the Locust Point community garden.
